IXPANPAJUL & LAKE

Description

We pick you up at the airport or your hotel to transfer you to Ixpanpajul Natural Park, a place full of rainforest where you can enjoy a walk on a set of six suspension bridges at different levels and observe the many species of plants and animals. After the fifth bridge you will come to a rest house which in turn is a lookout where you can relax in comfortable hammocks and observe at the distance how long the Lake Petén Itzá is.

14:00 We provide a beautiful boat tour around the islands of Lake Petén Itzá.

FISHING TOUR (1/2 DAY)

Description

In the morning we pick you up at the hotel or airport and transport you to the dock to take a traditional boat to go for two hours around the islands of Lake Petén Itzá to find strategic sites where anchoring and fishing with hooks. The most relevant species are the Slats (Poecilia petenensis) and White (Petenia splendida).

60% of the activity is under the shadow of the roof of the boat.

13:00 Transfer to the hotel or to the airport.

YAXCHILÁN

06:00 We pick you up at the hotel to be driven from Flores Petén all the way west to the Usumacinta river, located between Mexico and Guatemala border, is the largest river in Central America, where we’ll go for 1.5 hours by boat down the river to reach the archaeological site of Yaxchilan and start a 2-hour tour to observe the impressive features of the stone sculpture of this site, you can also see Maya buildings between the rainforest. Yaxchilan means “Green Stones” in Maya.
14:00 After the walk is we’ll begin to return on the boat and take box lunch.
18:30 Return to the hotel.

PIEDRAS NEGRAS & YAXCHILÁN (2 DAYS)

Description

DAY 1:
06:00 am. We pick you up at the hotel to be driven from Flores Petén all the way west to the Usumacinta river, located between Mexico and Guatemala border, is the largest river in Central America, where a boat will take us for 4 hours to reach downstream the archaeological site of Piedras Negras.
13:00 The Box Lunch will be taken on board of the boat.
14:30 We’ll begin a tour of 2.5 hours to observe the important structures at Piedras Negras that was one of the largest cities in the Maya Classic period, it was named after the black appearance of the stones on buildings and sculptures, which are strange and exotic stones in the area.
17:00 We’ll be established in the camp prepared by our staff, the ones at that time have already prepared dinner. After that, everybody has to be prepared for a night in the middle of a Mayan city in the heart of the rainforest and far from any noise of civilization.

DAY 2:
06:00 Arise for personal hygiene and proceed to have breakfast prepared by our special team.
08:30 Return is undertaken for 3 hours until we arrive to the archaeological site of Yaxchilan and start a 2-hour tour to observe the impressive features of the stone sculpture of this site, you can also see Maya buildings between the rainforest. Yaxchilan means “Green Stones” in Maya.
13:30 We’ll take a lunch prepared by our special staff on the dock of Yaxchilan.
14:00 After lunch, we’ll proceed to return.
18:30 Arrival to the hotel.

CANOPY TOURS(1/2 DAY)

Description

In the morning we pick you up at your hotel or airport and transport you to the entrance of Tikal National Park, where the Canopy Tours Tikal is located, which is an area of forest that has not been logged since the Maya left the area more than one thousand years ago. In this jungle was built less than a decade ago, an 8-wire system suspended from one tree to another. Through which one can slide on Tarzan-style and look at the vegetation the way the birds do. Proceed forward to put a harness on everybody and a pair of special gloves and then climb a tree following a spiral staircase with handrails to reach where the first of the cables is located, with the help of expert guides you will experience this adventure full of adrenaline.

RIDING A HORSE IN THE MAYA FOREST (1/2 DAY)

Description

We pick you up at your hotel around Lake Petén Itzá or airport to be moved to the entrance of Tikal National Park where the park "Canopy Tour Tikal” is located, this is an area of forest that has not been logged since the Maya left the area over one thousand years ago. The park guides will prepare the horses that are very calm and that will lead you through trails for 2 hours where you can observe nature from another point of view. Maya mounds will be observed; those once functioned as tombs for priests.
